> An antimalarial agent recommeded by the World Health Organization (WHO) in preference to quinidine for the treatment of severe malaria.
> A new antimalarial appears to highly effective and better tolerated than uninidine.
> Apotent and rapidly -acting blood schizontocide, active against the ring stage of the parasite.
> Effective against chloroquine and mefloquine resistant malaria.
> Also, effective against chloroquine and mefloquine resistant strains of P.falciparum.
