Proton pump Inhibitor (PPI), covalently binds with & inactivates the gastric parietal cell proton pump (H+/K+-ATPase) which in turn inhibits gastric acid production and raises and raises gastric acid production and raises gastric pH1.
Proton has the highest pKa, and hence it can be activated at higher pH level s much faster than PPIs.
Superior to ranitidine in esophageal healing and symptom relief in patients with erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Zinc Carnosine
Has strong anti-ulcer and antioxidant actions,attenuates gastric mucosal injuries & inhibits the increase of lipid peroxide in the gastric mucosa induced by burn shock or ischemia-reperfusion.
Has a greater antacid effect than sodium bicarbonate & higher potency of anti-peptic action (IC50=8.7 mM) as compared to other drugs.
